Carrie Marcella "Peatie" Andrew, 78, of Taneytown, MD, died peacefully on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Lorien Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taneytown.  Born February 16, 1938 in Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Jerry and Lena (Angel) Snyder.  She was the wife of the late Edward William Andrew, Sr.

Carrie was a seamstress/stitcher at the former Cambridge Rubber Company in Taneytown for many years.  She enjoyed attending family gatherings and parties, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by 6 children, Edward Andrew, Jr. and wife Yvette, Carol Lookingbill and companion Ronald Dayhoff, Susan Andrew and companion Richard Creager, Gene Andrew and wife Jamie, and John Andrew and wife Pam, all of Taneytown, and Vicky Lookingbill and husband Marty of Gettysburg, PA; brothers, Clarence Snyder and wife Janice of Thurmont, Thomas Snyder and wife Darlene of Westminster, and Roland Snyder and wife Wendy of Taneytown; sisters, Becky Warner and Shirley Wilson and husband Richard of Taneytown; sister-in-law, Gloria Young of Taneytown; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by brothers, Donald, Larry, and Robert Snyder; and granddaughters, Brandy and Dessie.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD, with the Rev. John Morrill officiating.  Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
