Jim was raised in Sykesville, MD. He graduated from Liberty High School, Villa Julie College (now Stevenson University) and Catonsville Community College. He joined Myers-Durboraw in April 2021.  Jim is a member of the Lineboro-Manchester Lions Club, the Tri-County Funeral Directors Association, and the National Funeral Directors Association.  Jim and the family attend Ascension Episcopal Church in Westminster.  Jim enjoys playing his drums, collecting toy trains, swimming, biking, and spending time with his family. Jim lives in Sykesville with his wife Michele, daughters Alison and Ashley and four-legged daughter Pickles.

Michele Schwartz

Michele Schwartz

Owner/Administrative Officer

Michele was born and raised in Sykesville, MD.  She graduated from South Carroll High School and Villa Julie College (now Stevenson University) with a degree in Business Information Systems.  She joined Myers-Durboraw in April 2021.  She enjoys cooking and spending time with her family.  Michele lives in Sykesville with her husband James, daughters Alison and Ashley and fur daughter Pickles.


Kathleen Cunningham

Corporate Administrative Director

Kathleen Cunningham, aka Kath or Kathy, has been with our family of funeral homes for 6+ years! She is an expert in all facets of the funeral business, whether it is traditional or cremation services, accounting, pre-need, etc. She is our Corporate Administrative Director. Kath is willing to help our staff with any needs and has a smile on her face every day coming into the office at Westminster.

In her spare time, she tends to her two cats, Andy and Penny, whom she adores. She spends the weekends with her lovely daughter, Kim.


Dave Meador

Born November 15, 1951 in Decatur, Illinois, Dave has resided in Maryland since 1984.  He is a graduate of Millikin University and Winebrenner Theological Seminary.  He earned a degree in Mortuary Science from CCBC in Catonsville in December, 2010.  An ordained minister, Dave brings more than 40 years of pastoral experience to his work in funeral service. He is pastor of Carrollton Church of God in Finksburg, a position he has held since 1999.

Joshua Willet

Joshua Willet

Licensed Mortician, Operations Manager

Josh, a Carroll County native, was born and raised on a small family farm between Taneytown and Westminster. He attended Mother Seton School in Emmitsburg and graduated from Francis Scott Key High School in '97. Josh was a volunteer firefighter/EMT for 20 years with Pleasant Valley Community Fire Company, rising to the rank of Captain. He also worked for Taneytown Volunteer Fire Department for 12 years before deciding to pursue a career as a Mortician/Funeral Director in 2011. Josh worked for Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home from 2010-2014 and returned in 2021 as the Operations Manager. 


Jill Trail

Jill is a first-generation funeral director. She completed her degree in Mortuary Science in 2011, graduating from Catonsville Community College. She served her apprenticeship in a locally owned family firm and continued to work for them for 10 years. She joined the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home family in 2021. 

Jill is also an adjunct teacher at her college alumni CCBC, where she teaches the laboratory portion of mortuary restorative art. In her off time, she volunteers for a dog rescue, fostering many dogs over the years. Her niche is caring for dogs with disabilities, which inspired her to write a children's book that features her own rescue, bilateral amputee, Pihu (Pee-Hoo). 


Stephanie McNutt

Stephanie McNutt was born in Baltimore, and raised in Carroll County, Maryland, where she graduated from North Carroll High School in 2001. She currently resides in McSherrystown, Pennsylvania. She enjoys hiking, camping, and kayaking with her dogs, “Aoife” and "Ealaigh".

Stephanie has been with Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home since 2015. In May of 2017, she earned her Mortuary Science A.A.S. degree from the Community College of Baltimore County in Catonsville, Maryland. She is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, and a Certified Crematory Operator.

Adria Brooks

Adria Brooks

Adria Brooks was born in Baltimore and raised in Carroll County where she graduated from Century High School in 2009. She currently resides in Eldersburg with her husband, Jake, and their pets. She is a graduate of Carroll Community College with an associate’s degree in Social Sciences – Criminal Justice.

Adria graduated from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science with her Mortuary Science A.A.S. degree in January of 2022. She received her Maryland State Board of Morticians and Funeral Directors License in April 2022. She has been with Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home since April 2020. She is also a Certified Crematory Operator.

John Skiles

John Skiles

John M. Skiles was born of February 26, 1938 in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. His childhood was spent in Taneytown, Maryland. John was a graduate of the class of 1956 from Taneytown High School. He attended the University of Maryland, College Park. 

He served in the United States Army, The Maryland National Guard and the U.S Army Reserves. John then attended McAllister Institute of Embalming in New York City, graduating in 1961. He became a licensed mortician in the state of Maryland in 1962. He worked for his grandfather Merwyn C. Fuss at Fuss Funeral Home from 1962 until 1971. Together with his father John H. Skiles they individually owned and operated the Skiles Funeral Home in Taneytown from 1971-2007 and the Emmitsburg Funeral Home from 1977-2007. He sold the business to Justin R. Durboraw in September of 2007. 

In 1999, John married Linda Wolfe Repp, together they have five children and eight grandchildren. John and Linda reside in the village at Homewood at Plum Creek near Hanover, PA. 

John is a member of the Hesson-Snider Post #120 of American Legion, Taneytown and of the Train Collectors of America. 

In addition to spending time with his wife and family, he enjoys golfing, reading, classical music and live theatre.

Linda was raised in Baltimore County and graduated from Woodlawn High School (shortly after the stone age) and moved to Carroll County in 1999. She lives on a small farm in Westminster with her husband and enjoys camping, hiking, and fun adventures of any kind. Linda has 2 grown children and 3 grandchildren who are the light of her life. Working for most of her career for a small manufacturing company, she joined the Myers-Durboraw office support staff in 2017 and loves working with her dedicated co-workers.

Connie Hawk

Connie Hawk

Connie was born February 11, 1940 in Findlay, Ohio and has resided in Carroll County, Maryland since 1950. She was married to the late Neil Hawk who passed away November 2011. Connie was a 1958 graduate of Westminster High School and continued her education at Union Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, receiving her Registered Nurse degree in 1961. In 2014, after 53 years of a nursing career, she retired and became an active volunteer for Carroll Hospice (now BridgingLife Hospice and Palliative Care). Connie is an active member of Grace United Church of Christ and many committees at Carroll Lutheran Village. Known for her loving and caring personality, she joined the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home team in 2015.


Cindy Monkouski

Cindy was born on a US Air Force Base near Tokyo, Japan. She was raised in Charlottesville and Tidewater Virginia, before moving to Western Howard County, MD in her teens.

She graduated from Glenelg High School and held a variety of jobs. After she married, Cindy worked many years for the Columbia Association, in various capacities, while she earned her associate's degree from Howard Community College. Returning to college while raising three daughters, she earned her bachelor's degree in Communications from the University of Notre Dame of Maryland. 

As a freelance journalist, Cindy published articles in Howard Magazine, the Columbia Flier, Carroll County Times, and the Eldersburg Eagle. She has been a move manager for over a decade, helping Seniors and those wanting to downsize, organize and move to smaller spaces. She recently joined Myers-Durboraw, and feels honored to help bereaved families feel welcome and comfortable while visiting the funeral homes.

Cindy enjoys taking long walks, going to the beach, traveling, spending time with family and friends and singing with her church choir.

Dale H. Miller

Dale was born on June 11, 1947 and is a native of Carroll County. 

He is a graduate of Westminster Senior High, Class of 1965. He worked for 40 years at the Black & Decker, Corp and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Towson State University in 1987. 

Dale is an active member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church near Westminster.  He is a resident of Carroll Lutheran Village in Westminster, MD. 

He has been associated with the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home since October 2004.


Gene Eyler

Gene grew up and still resides in the Emmitsburg area.  He is married to Fran Eyler, who also works at the funeral home.  They have one daughter and 2 grandchildren. 

Gene retired from banking after 41 years in 2009. He was very active in the business community during his banking career, serving as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce, President of the Taneytown Chamber of Commerce, and also as a Board member for several other organizations.  Gene served 6 years in the military as a member of the Pennsylvania National Guard. 

He is very active at Trinity United Methodist Church in Emmitsburg where he served as Treasurer for 44 years and is now Chairman of the Finance Committee and a Trustee. 

Gene has been employed with Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home since October 2009.


Gary Wilmer

Gary grew up in Baltimore City and relocated to Hampstead over 30 years ago. He has been married to Vicky K. Wilmer for 24 years.  He received his BS from Towson University after serving in the Army.  He is retired from the US Postal service where he was a letter carrier.   Gary is very active with antique automobiles.  He has several restored vehicles and enjoys driving them most weekends.  Gary is an active member of Wesley United Methodist Church and Carrollton Church of God.  He enjoys working and serving the community through his work at Myers-Durboraw.  Gary joined the team at Myers-Durboraw in 2014.

Doug is a lifelong resident of Emmitsburg.  He is married to Patricia A. Orner with over 40 great  years together.  He received his MBA from Mount Saint Mary’s.  Having retired from the business world as a  human resource professional, he continues to serve his community through the fire/rescue service of the Vigilant Hose Company in Emmitsburg with over 45 years.  Doug is an active member of Elias Lutheran Church in Emmitsburg as well.  He continues to fulfill his desire to be involved in the community and surrounding areas with services through Myers-Durboraw.  Doug joined Myers-Durboraw staff in 2016.


Wil Alleman

Wil is a resident of Carroll Vista, in Taneytown. He is a graduate of Assumption High School, Napoleonville, LA, and attended Nichols State University, Community College of Baltimore County, and is a Master Barber. A veteran of the US Army, he served in Vietnam and Korea, between 1969-1972. Wil retired from the United State Postal Service in 2003, and joined Myers-Durboraw in 2018.

Paul Hann Jr.

Paul Hann Jr. was born raised in Carroll County where he graduated from Francis Scott Key High School in 2017. Paul then attended Shepherd University for Music Education and graduated in 2021. At Shepherd, Paul was a drum major of the marching band and fraternity president of Phi Mu Alpha Music Fraternity. He currently resides in Emmitsburg with his cat, Simba. Paul enjoys playing softball, camping, playing tuba, and riding his motorcycle.

Paul is currently teaching elementary music full-time in Hagerstown. He hopes to be a principal someday. He has been an associate with Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home since May 2019.


John Morrill

John was born in Brooklyn, New York on October 21, 1946.  He was a Lutheran Pastor for 34 years and has served as Chaplain to two Hospices, Carroll Hospice in Westminster and AseraCare Hospice in York Pa.  John lives with his wife, Patricia in Frederick, MD. 

John brings his pastoral experience and hospice experience to the funeral home and offers Celebrant services for families wishing to have a funeral or memorial which is personalized to their loved ones life.  John is a Certified Celebrant who received his training and certification from the In-Sight Institute.  Celebrant Services reflect the needs and desires of the family to remember their loved ones.  John is available to meet with families either at their homes or at the funeral home.


Justin Durboraw

Justin was born and raised in Mt. Holly, NJ, and graduated from Gettysburg College with a B.A. in Business Management & Economics and from Catonsville Community College Mortuary Science Program with an A.A.S. degree. He started work in funeral service in 1992 with the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg, Fairfield, and York Springs, PA, later coming to Maryland with the Eckhardt Funeral Chapel in Manchester and Owings Mills. In 2002, he joined Bob and Sue Myers at Myers Funeral Home, Westminster, and in 2003 the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, P.A. was formed. He holds his mortician/funeral director licenses in both Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Nebraska and is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, Maryland State Funeral Directors Association, and the Tri-County Funeral Directors Association. Justin is married to the Rev. Anne C. (Rosenquist) Durboraw, the former, Pastor of St. Luke’s (Winter’s) Lutheran Church in New Windsor, MD. In June of 2021, the Durboraw family decided they needed to make a change for their family and moved to North Platte, Nebraska.  We all miss Justin and Anne, and prayer for their family as they have made the move to North Platte.

Justin enjoys golfing, and watching his children play softball and soccer. Prior to his move to North Platte, Justin was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, where he sang in the church choir. He was also a member of the Westminster Rotary Club, Taneytown Lions Club, and the Lutheran Men of the Westminster Conference of Lutheran Churches. He was a former member of the Board of Trustees of the Carroll Lutheran Village. He had formerly served on the Board of Carroll Lutheran School and chaired the golf tournament committee.


Sueann Myers

Sueann Flaherty Myers was born in Clarksburg, WV and raised in Hanover, PA, graduating from Delone Catholic High School.  She joined the Myers Funeral Home with her husband, Robert, in 1986 and graduated from the Catonsville College of Mortuary Science in 1990.  She is a member of St. John Catholic Church in Westminster and volunteers with several organizations, including over 30 years with Carroll Hospice.  She enjoys working as event staff for the Orioles in Sarasota, FL.  Sue lives in the family home on Willis Street with her spoiled dachshund, Sadie.

Robert Myers

Robert Myers

Raised in Westminster, Maryland, Robert graduated from Westminster High School, Bridgewater College, VA and Catonsville College of Mortuary Science. Starting at the age of 15, he worked with the founder of the funeral home, his uncle, John E. Myers, Jr.  Receiving his Maryland mortician license in 1976, he was a partner at the then Myers-Pritts Funeral Home on Willis Street in Westminster.  Wishing to expand his knowledge of funeral service, he then worked for both Wetzel Funeral Home in Hanover, PA and Peters Funeral Home in Gettysburg, PA, where he attained his Pennsylvania license.  In 1984 he re-established the Myers Funeral Home in Westminster with his wife, Sueann, joining him in 1986.  He was a past Consistory President, Deacon and Elder of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, a member of the Westminster Kiwanis Club and has been active in a number of Westminster City activities throughout the years.  In addition, he enjoyed working as event staff for the Orioles in Sarasota, FL.  Perhaps his fondest love was enjoying the complexities of nature and the people who make up the community in which he lived.

Bob passed away on Sunday June 30, 2019 at his family home on Willis Street.


Bob Flickinger

Bob Flickinger

Bob was born and raised in Taneytown, Maryland, where he resides today with Fairy, his wife of more than 50 years. 

Upon graduation from Taneytown High School in 1952 Bob worked on the family farm for three years. He then enlisted in the United States Army where he served for three years. Following his time in the service, Bob was employed at Random House in Westminster for 26 years. 

Bob served as mayor of Taneytown for more than ten years. He has been a member of the Taneytown Lions Club for over thirty years and served as the president of the Bureau of Aging for several years. Bob’s employment with the funeral home in Taneytown began in 2003. 

Bob devotes much of his spare time to the town by volunteering in various tasks. 

Bob and Fairy have one daughter, one son and three grandsons. 

Bob passed away on January 1, 2021 in Taneytown.  He was a true gentleman, and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.  Rest in peace "Flick".
