Alvin C. Drinks, Jr., 91, of Finksburg, Maryland, died peacefully on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at his home.

          Born on July 3, 1925 in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Alvin C. Drinks, Sr. and Dorothy (Morris) Drinks.  He was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Ruth May (Eckstein) Drinks in 2015.

          Alvin was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during W.W.II on three different destroyers in both the Africa and Sicily invasions and then toward the end of the war in the Pacific theater.  He spent most of his career as a gasoline and fuel oil truck driver.

          Surviving are sons, David A. Drinks and wife Denise of Reno, Nevada, and Michael L. Drinks of Finksburg; sister, Dorothy Ray Drinks of Timonium; grandchildren, Michelle Ann Drinks, Matthew C. Drinks, and Ryan Drinks and wife Robyn; great-grandson, Calvin Drinks.

          Memorial services will be announced at a later date.  Interment will be private. 

          In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD  21157.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME in Westminster.
