Patricia Ann (Smith) Hughes

           Patricia Ann Hughes (Smith), 76, of Taneytown died on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Gilchrist in Columbia. Born December 23, 1945 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Owen Smith Sr. and Gladys (Parker) Smith.

           Patricia worked for Giant Food in Westminster as a bakery clerk for many years. She loved Jesus and angels. Patricia enjoyed feeding birds and squirrels, playing with her dogs, searching for Sasquatch, watching new falling snow, Judge Judy and spending time with her family.

           Surviving are her children, Suzanne Bagwell of Taneytown, Michele Papiri and husband Joe of Frankford, DE; grandchildren, Wayne Hudson, Brittany Mascolo, Joey Papiri, Lindsay Bagwell, Alexis Papiri and Justin Bagwell; great-grandchildren Way’Lynn Hudson and a great-grandson to be born in March; sisters Barbara Holland and husband Jim of Manchester, Deb Smith of Mechanicsville, VA and a brother Owen Smith Jr. of Westminster; She was predeceased by a son, Eugene Leitner and a great-grandson Wayne Hudson Jr.

           A private service will be held for family to celebrate Patricia’s life at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home in Taneytown.
