William Robert Evans

         William Robert Evans, 89, of Westminster, MD, formerly of The Villages, FL, died peacefully on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at the Carroll Hospice Dove House.

          Born November 29, 1929 in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Clarence and Josephine B. (Poland) Evans.  He was the husband of the late Marie (Mansell) Evans.

          William was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and worked for most of his career as a salesman.  He was active in his church, sang in the choir, and enjoyed golfing, dancing, singing karaoke, fishing, crabbing, and boating.  He especially loved living and spending time with his friends while at The Villages in Florida.  He also loved spending time with family and making people laugh.

          Surviving are daughter, Carolyn E. Pennington and husband Frank of Mt. Airy, MD; son, Kevin L. Evans of Mt. Airy, MD; step-children, Gail Mansell of Ocean City, MD, and Gina Rauch of NC; adopted daughter-in-law, Lucy Calvert of Plant City, FL; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren.

          He was predeceased by step-children, Gary and Glen Mansell.

          A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Church 3.0, 65 E Main Street, Westminster, MD with lunch to follow.  Interment in Ft. Lincoln Cemetery in Brentwood, MD will be private. 

          In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD  21157.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home in Westminster.
