Ada B. Jones, 76, passed away peacefully at home, on March 23, 2017. Ada was born in Washington, D.C. on December 12, 1940. She graduated in 1959, from Bethesda Chevy Chase High School. On October 8, 1960, she married her Kensington Jr. High sweetheart, Robert A. Jones. They were married for 56 years.
Ada appreciated the beauty of flowers, the comforts of crochet, and the joy of cooking. She was an exceptional homemaker, having previously worked as a secretary for NIH in Bethesda, MD, and at the Aster Florist in Washington, D.C. Ada was an abundant giver of time, patience, and love; she was a creative problem solver and had an overwhelmingly kind heart. She was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, New Windsor, MD.
Ada is survived by her children and their spouses: Lori Jones and Mary Quinn of Brookeville, MD, Catherine Luetje and James Luetje of Union Bridge, MD, Amy Betts and Wayne Betts of Laytonsville, MD; and grandchildren Nick Betts and spouse Lindsey Betts, Corinne Luetje, Nate Betts, Cooper Luetje, Abigail Jones, Jillian Luetje, and Chloe Betts.
Ada is preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Constance Orphanos Beahm; as well as her sister, Diane Ross. She is survived by her brother, John W. Beahm and his spouse, Debbie Beahm of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.
Visitation will be at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis Street Westminster, MD on March 28, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on March 29, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 701 Green Valley Rd, New Windsor, MD 21776, with Pastor Anne Durboraw officiating.
